Special Accommodations

Special accommodations for graduating students with special needs are available upon request.  Please contact the Office of the Registrar at (334) 844-4367 or the President’s Office at (334) 844-4650 to make requests.  All requests for special accommodations should be made well in advance of the scheduled graduation ceremony.

A reserved section will be available at the coliseum for guests with special needs.  This section will be located on the arena floor behind the graduates.  Due to limited seating, only one person can accompany a guest who is to be located this section.  The most convenient access to this section is the ground level entrance on the east side of the coliseum.

Special Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities

Graduation is very well attended. We encourage anyone with mobility or health issues to come early. If you use a wheelchair, cart, or other specialized equipment, please bring it with you. A sign language interpreter will be on stage left (Section 31) for the ceremony. Assistive Listening Devices are available from the First Aid Station. If you need a program in an alternate format, or have a question about accommodations, please call 334-844-2542.

Accessible Parking at the Main Entrance of the Coliseum

The parking lot to the right of the Main Entrance (Scholarship Lot) is reserved for accessible parking on Graduation Day. This lot has a sidewalk leading to the ramp that takes you to the Main Entrance (by the Eagle). This entrance is on Level 3. There are accessible seating areas all around this level, as well as restrooms and a First Aid Station.

Accessible Parking and Drop-off at the East Entrance (across from the Baseball Field)

A few accessible parking spaces are near the East Entrance. The elevator inside of this entrance is about 100 feet down the first hallway to the right. Take this elevator to Level 3 where accessible seating, restrooms, and the First Aid Station are available.
