Dinner and a Movie
Bring your friends and join UPC for a Dinner and a Movie Double Feature: Twilight and the Twilight Saga: New Moon on Tuesday, February 23. Twilight will be shown at 5:30 p.m., and the Twilight Saga: New Moon will be shown at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for Dinner and a Movie will be available beginning Wednesday, February 17 in suite 3130 room 3149 (bring AU student ID). At the annual Southeastern Interfraternity Conference (SEIFC) Awards Banquet, Auburn University took home four awards for excellence: Risk Management & Judicial Procedures Award, Outstanding Educational Program Award, Community Service & Philanthropy Award, and Campus & Community Relations Award.
Congratulations to The Auburn Plainsman, which was named the top newspaper in the region by Society of Professional Journalists. Also honored were Rod Guajardo (second place, photographer of the year), Elli Langford (ninth place, journalist of the year), and The Plainsman's Web site (eighth place). Congratulations to editor Lindsey Davidson and her staff, 2008-09 editor Kristi Oberholzer and her staff, and Dr. Jennifer Adams, who served as adviser during this time.
Campus Recreation will be hosting a National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Webinar, "Implementing Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS Standards) for Rec Sports Programs," on Wednesday, February 17, 1 p.m.–2:30 p.m., Student Center Room 2227. Fishing teams from Auburn University and the University of Alabama will compete February 20 at Logan Martin in the first Bassmaster College Classic Tournament. The teams will return to the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex for a 2:30 p.m. weigh in that will be streamed live on Bassmaster.com.
