The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows program is a semi-structured mentoring program for undergraduate students wishing to explore and better understand the field of student affairs and/or higher education. Students and mentors apply as a pair, and if selected are provided the foundation to establish a semi-structured mentoring relationship at their institution. Students, once selected, are known as Fellows, and are also given the opportunity to attend a national conference, participate in paid internships, and participate in the Summer Leadership Institute.
If you, or any student that you would recommend, are interested in this program, please respond to Keri Anne Davis at davisk1@auburn.edu or call 844-8191.

On Monday, October, 26, Student Counseling Services sponsored National Depression Screening Day at the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With the help of graduate students and staff from Auburn’s Psychological Services Center and academic departments in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, and marriage and family therapy, the event was quite successful. A total of 85 individuals were screened for depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Several individuals were offered on campus and community referrals, while general information about mental health care needs was available to all participants. It is hoped that we were able to identify several individuals at risk for mental health concerns and provide them with timely resources that might lead to proactive care and alleviation of distress.
Depending on the location of your meeting/conference, it may be necessary to travel the day before the meeting begins. If that is the case, you will be reimbursed for the costs of lodging and meals for that day. Because of flight schedules, it may also be necessary to remain at the meeting site the night that the conference ends. In that case, you will be reimbursed for your lodging and meals on the last day of the meeting as well as your meals while en route home the following day. Any decisions related to traveling the day before or staying the night the meeting ends should be documented and retained in the department files. As a general rule, travelers should never travel earlier than the day before or the day after a meeting/conference.
Some examples of allowable hotel charges include: lodging, lodging taxes, parking and business phone calls with the parking and business phone call charges broken out separately from the lodging costs on your travel voucher. Meals charged to your room must also be broken out separately from the lodging costs and claimed under the $34/$60 actual meal cost reimbursement. Charges for personal phone calls, laundry, movie rentals, bar/lounge charges, gift shop purchases, spa/fitness center fees and many others are considered personal and are not reimbursable.
