Welcome Back Edition of The Plainsman

The Auburn Plainsman's Spring Welcome Back Edition for 2010 will be published on January 11, 2010. The 40-page, tabloid-sized special edition of The Plainsman will be available throughout campus and at numerous off-campus locations on the first day of class. Be on the lookout for this year's edition, which is nearly double the size of last spring's Welcome Back.

"Kick in 2010"

Get a head start on spring break with "Kick in 2010", a Campus Recreation 90-minute kickboxing class held Tuesday, January 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Student Activities Center, Courts 5-7. Each semester Campus Recreation holds a main event to motivate students, faculty, and staff to return to fitness and to jump start the many activities Campus Recreation offers. The Group Fitness Program continues to grow and in January, Cardio Plus, a high/low impact aerobic class, Step Interval, a mix of step aerobics and pump, and Hip Hop, a stylized aerobic dance class, have been added.

Mark your calendar now and join Campus Recreation on Tuesday, January 19 at 6 p.m. to start your 2010 resolution to a new you. The group fitness schedule is posted at www.auburn.edu/campusrec

Mileage Rate Changed to 50 Cents per Mile

The Internal Revenue Service has announced a change in the standard rate for business use of a personal vehicle to 50 cents per mile. In accordance with that change, the Auburn University travel policy has been revised to reflect a mileage reimbursement rate of 50 cents per mile for the business use of an employee's personal vehicle while the employee is on university travel status. The new rate became effective with travel that began on or after Jan. 1. For more information, contact Procurement and Payment Services at 844-7771.
