What global challenge(s) are you most interested in and why?

I'm most interested in the global challenges of Hunger and Poverty. This is something I've always been passionate about. It started when I was a little girl and would listen to my grandma tell me stories about her life in Vietnam before she came to the United States. Everyday was a struggle to find food and most of the time she would just end up with a half a bowl of rice. After growing up and realizing that this is a problem seen around the world, I feel a sense of responsibility towards seeing this problem being eliminated in my lifetime. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from malnutrition and the sad part is that we produce enough food in the world for everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle. No one should be hungry.

How can students at Auburn University contribute to the Leadership Challenge?

A student can help with the Leadership Challenge simply by getting involved. For the amount of things we want to do, we need help. By getting involved, even if it's taking 10 minutes out of your day, a student can help significantly. We want to spread the word about the different challenges we face in order to educate the people, but to do that it's going to take more than 20 people. When you look around you, every problem we are challenged with are right in front of your eyes. If you want to help be a part of the change, GET INVOLVED and talk to someone who already is.
