What global challenge(s) are you most interested in and why?
I am most interested in Gender Inequity, specifically with an interest in the health and education of girls on a global scale. The only difference between myself and a girl who was born into poverty, who will never receive an education, is the family I was born into. So many girls around the world have the potential to be great, but lack the opportunity to be so.
How can students at Auburn University contribute to the Leadership Challenge?
The Challenge is an umbrella term in which three different groups are under including: The Challenge Fellows, The Challenge FLP group, and The Challenge Summit Conference. All of these groups participate in a series of service projects and events to educate students on global issues and why it is important to care about such issues. The easiest way to contribute is to take part in these various events as well as become educated on the issues yourself. Once educated, pass along the mantra of The Challenge, "It only takes one."
