Steerage

Steerage is the Naval Honorary of the Department of Naval Science at Auburn University. It was founded in 1949 to promote a greater degree of unity and esprit de corps among the officer candidates and midshipmen of the Auburn Naval ROTC and to stimulate their participation in unit functions and student activities.

Membership is open to all NROTC students and Mariners who are in good standing with the unit and have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, aptitude, and superior academic performance. Steerage invites it's new candidates for membership each winter and offers full membership to selectees of this group in the spring.

Winter Social, Spring Formal, and Senior Dining Out are among the events and activities hosted by the Steerage membership.
