Cindy was the first trainer of the women's basketball team and throughout her career she remained devoted to AU Athletics and the Auburn community. Last year, Cindy unexpectedly passed away. Friends from her quilting group, the Cotton Boll Quilt Guild, found many packages of fabrics in her house. A long time member of the guild, Ms Louise Barker, started a project to honor Cindy by asking members to create quilts from these fabrics and donating them to charity.
Dr. Cathy McVay selected AU-Tigers4Tigers as the cause she wanted to support and Cindy's mother expressed her full support for the donation to AU-T4T. We are very grateful for this exceptional donation and we hope that the silent auction at this Sunday's basketball game will attract many members of the Auburn family to join us in honoring Ms. Cindy Wall.
This event was made possible by the joined forces of COSAM, AU Athletics, the Cotton Boll Quilt Guild, and especially Dr.Cathy McVay.

The Cindy Wall Quilt
The materials are all 100% cotton; they are either hand-dyed fabric (some by Cindy Wall) or Batiks (also hand decorated) that come from the home of wild tigers (southern Asia); the top was machine pieced and the "sandwich" was machine quilted; the arrangement of the fabrics is from pattern is called "Lickety-Split" by Teresa Singleton (Sunday Best Quilts, Ellerslie, GA).
