Our Programs:
At the present time we are working with the outreach programs of AU College of Science and Mathematics and the Montgomery Zoo, to provide activities for their various programs. Our programs use the tiger to teach students about conservation both on a global scale and here at home. Using fun activities and games children are exposed to ideas and concepts of conservation while gaining a respect for the world around them without even knowing they are learning.
They learn about survival in the wild through games where the children take on the role of the tiger, and their prey. They also learn about varies monitoring techniques with matching games and interactive play. Making connection with local species the children learn about life in their own backyard and how they fit into the web of life by getting up and participating in interactive activities.
At the end of each program the children are given a book to take home with information that they learned, coloring plates of local species and fun activities they can continue to do at home to improve the world in which they live.
Tigers for tigers is also in the process of developing additional educational programs to bring to the classrooms of local schools.
If you are interested in having us come to your classroom or participating in program development, please contact us via e-mail and we can set up a time to meet.
Tigers for Tiger crew have gone through Project wild training and have five years experience developing and implementing educational programs in a zoological park.
Educational Philosophy:
The goal of Tigers for Tigers is to use the school’s spirit for the tiger (Aubie) to inspire the public about nature and conservation. By using the tiger as an example children and adults alike will learn basic conservation concepts and that will then be applied to local conservation awareness.
