High School Leadership Conference

The Student Government Association is excited to announce that the annual High School Leadership Conference will be held February 12-13, 2009. Throughout the two day conference, Auburn University students will lead high school juniors and seniors in team building and individual leadership enhancing activities. Students will also have the opportunity to tour our beautiful campus, listen to amazing speakers, and interact with many of Auburn University’s most prominent leaders. We will be accepting the first 350 student applications.  Though the requested number of attendees is six, there is a possibility for more students from each school to attend.  Please contact the SGA office if you have more than six students interested in participating.

For those of you staying at local hotels other than the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center, we have a designated parking lot on campus that is free of charge and does not require a permit for you to park when you arrive to campus for the conference during the day. We ask that you park in this lot and ride the campus bus system (Tiger Transit) from this lot to the Haley Center transit depot in the central area of campus. The route that services this parking lot is the “Park and Ride” route or the “Blue Line”. Buses will run in 10-15 minute intervals to and from this parking lot from 7:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m. both Thursday and Friday. The Foy Student Union is within a short walking distance from the Haley Center drop off point and there will be student counselors and posted signs to direct you accordingly from the bus drop-off point to Foy Union. For those of you staying at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center, Foy Student Union is within walking distance from the hotel parking lot.

**Parking zones are in effect on campus from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. You will receive a ticket or be towed if you park in any other locations other than the designated (Intramural Field) lot. After 5:00 p.m. you may move your vehicles to a lot or parking deck closer to Foy Student Union. However, at the end of the Thursday night activities a chartered shuttle will take all conference attendees back to their cars at the Intramural Field lot.**
