Flannery O’Connor depicts for us how “a good man is hard to find.”  The illusion of ‘goodness’ that we often try to maintain undercuts the power of the gospel in our lives, drives sinners into hiding and clouds the beauty and glory of Christ to redeem.  This fall we focus on our need so as to see more clearly our hope in Christ.  While you will only find “The Seven Deadly Sins” in the Bible not a biblical list, they become a helpful tool for understanding our sin and God’s grace.  If you have never been to one of our meetings, this is what you can expect. We get together to know and worship God and explore what that would mean. There is singing, announcements, prayers, readings from Scripture, opportunities to confess our sin to God or declare what we believe about him, and preaching. If you are trying to figure out what you believe about Jesus, we try our best to show you what Christians are like and speak in ways that make sense and are meaningful to all. We believe that if you join us to know or know more of God in your life, you will. See you soon.

When God works to redeem he builds a people for himself and for one another.  We were made to know others and be known by them.  Fellowship groups meet at various times during the week for knowing, serving, laughing, praying, eating and discussing God’s Word.  Some for dudes, some for dames and some for both.  As the semester approaches, we’ll post the times and places of our groups on the small groups page.

So much is new in your first year at Auburn: new school, new schedule, new people, and new cramped space.   Our Freshmen Bible Study helps you see how the gospel addresses this new world and connects you to people in it with you.  You are welcome whether you have been a Christian all your life or whether you trying to figure out what you believe.   This smaller group will be led by Richard, Tom and Meggie and will meet for an hour.  Topics include ‘What is the gospel?”, “The gospel and your friends”, “The gospel and dating”,  “The gospel and your responsibilities”, “The gospel and your future” to name a few.  Come as you can. New faces are always welcome.

If this is you, please feel free to post your needs whether you are looking for a roommate a place to stay or someone to sublease your apartment. You should be able to post needs and check back to see if there are any leads.
