AUDITIONS FOR NEXT SEASON WILL BE HELD IN THE SPRING.

SUNDAY, APRIL 30, 2006
Registration- 2:00 @ the Boykin Center
We will start auditions promptly at 2:30 p.m.

Don't Forget To Bring: a Photo & $7 Application fee

REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS
• Must be enrolled at Auburn University through Spring 2007 and in good standing!!
• Must have and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA

RULES AND REGULATIONS

**Official uniforms and promotional items are provided. Dance Team members are responsible for maintaining the uniforms.


REHEARSALS

Twice a week. Right now, the team practices on Sunday and Thursday evenings, but this is always subject to change; extra rehearsals can be added as needed. Any dancer missing a rehearsal prior to a performance may be asked to sit out. Any dancer missing multiple rehearsals and performances is subject to dismissal from the troupe. If you cannot attend the majority of rehearsals and performances, do not consider auditioning!!

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Each dancer is required to meet a minimum number of charity ,sponsor, and community service appearances throughout the season.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DO I WEAR TO AUDITIONS?
Wear something that will express your personality, your own personal style! Also, make sure that its something you are comfortable dancing in.

DO YOU HAVE AUDITION PREPARATORY CLINICS THAT I CAN ATTEND?
We usually do, but will be unable to this year (2006) due to additional performances late in the season.

WHAT WILL AUDITIONS BE LIKE?
Candidates will have be taught a short routine and perform that routine in small groups in front of a panel of 3-5 judges. Then, each candidate will be able to display any special abilities, such as tumbling, turning, breaking, etc. Auditions may also consist of a short interview if deemed necessary by the judges.

WHAT ARE YOUR HEIGHT AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS?
We do not have any. Applicants should be in good physical condition.

WHAT DO THE JUDGES LOOK FOR AT AUDITIONS?

The judges look at your appearance, showmanship, dance ability, as well as poise, personality, a great attitude, and community service.

HOW MANY DANCERS WILL BE SELECTED?
As stated in the group’s constitution, the troupe will consist of no more than 20 members, which up to 5 can be alternates. Also, there is no set limit to the number of male dancers that may be selected in any given season.

CAN MY FRIENDS COME AND WATCH AUDITIONS?
No, Auditions are closed to the public.

DO CURRENT TEAM MEMBERS HAVE TO RE-AUDITION?
Yes, all members must go through the audition process each season and are not guaranteed their place on the team.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Being an AU Rhythm Troupe member is not a huge commitment. The troupe averages about 3 performances per month in addition to community service projects. Many of our team members have jobs and are involved in various organizations on campus.
