接机事宜pickup at airport, 请提前一个月联系!! 联系熟人或者学长. 如果有认识的同学或者学长,请直接联系他们,安排接机事宜.请酌情支付费用(老生可以不要,但是新生应该给,此系人之常情.中国人有时候不好意思,请新生自觉酌情支付费用).
请在购买机票后立即与我们联系，包括以下信息：
1) 声明你的接机请求，注明“agree to pay $60 for the airport pickup”或同意付费（60美元）。
2) 姓名(必须)，
3) 照片(必须，清晰,非艺术,便于机场辨认),
4) 性别(必须)，
5) 联系电话(必须)，
6) 奥本所在系(必须)，
7) 毕业院校
8) 航空公司，航班号及到达亚特兰大的时间 (当地时间 *年*月*日*时*分)
9) 行李（几大几小）(必须)。
如有同机来奥本的２人，２人都应提供信息，并各自付费.
如果新生同时联系两个人,而且两个志愿者都前去接机,则新生需要给每个志愿者$60.
请尽早联系我们，在7月中旬之前。如果在最后一个星期联系我们,我们很难找到志愿者接机.
收到我们通知可以接机后，务必在出发前一周再与我们确认姓名和航班时间（请包括之前联系的email内容）。 如果出发时飞机延误，请及时通知，避免无法接机。
在美国机场打电话指南，机场有公用电话，用1美元可以换4个25分的硬币（Quarter）, 2个硬币就可以打一次美国国内电话。请记住联系人的电话，在飞机延误时及时联系。与人方便就是与记方便。 建议：AuburnUniversity秋季学期是从8月开始，国际学生办公室的Orientation是从8月初开始，所以建议来Auburn的时间不早于7月22号，因为会面临租房问题（每年租房合同起始时间是从8月中旬开始）。
为了顺利安排接机，请尽量不要订半夜到达亚特兰大的机票。如能购买抵达亚特兰大时间为午后至晚上９：００的航班，相对比较容易安排。新生数目每年递增，CSO的志愿者人力有限，有时无法做到有求必应，请谅解。 到达Auburn之后的安排 到达anburn后我们将尽力安排临时住所，一般都是在老生家。因为7，8月份正是本年度租房合同截至，以及下一年度租房合同开始的时期，很多老生也会搬家，所以临时住所比较难找，而且比较艰苦一些，请大家谅解。 一般第二天会安排本系的老生带新生去完成，注册的各个事项，因为事项很多，而且办理注册事项的办公室比较分散，大概需要一到两天时间完成注册。其中一项比较重要的是体检表，在来之前体检查出来PPT阳性 （结核阳性），但是没有发病史的，请一定带一张体检医院提供的X光片。因为没有X光片，在去医院补拍一张，又费钱，又费时间。 完成注册后，会安排老生带新生去找房子，因为找房子需要花很多时间，请大家珍惜老生的时间和劳动。 关于暂住问题及收费 （updated July 14th, 2008） Dear all new student,
As you know, the CSO is trying the best to find temporary housing for new student. However, for many reasons it's really hard to do so. Some of the reasons are as follows:
1. Most students here are RA or TA, which means we are not just students. We get paid every month so we have to work at office or lab at least from 9:00Am to 5:00Pm. In most case, we need to work late in the lab. Many old students really want to help but do not have time to take care of another person. Especially there are many errands need to run for new students.
2. Despite the privacy, for most old students, I understand they do not like to provide housing because they know they do not have time to take care of you after you arrive, which may make you think they are mean. It really hurts people when they try to help, but don't get understand. But unfortunately, this happened before.
3. The time frame of new students arrive is right during the gap for most realty's leases. Even many old students have to crash at friends' place.
So, normally we don't set it as a mandatory rule of paying the temporary stay. But considering that our Chinese culture is shy on the money most time, and to protect our old students so this "new student accommodation tradition" can keep going, we would like to make it clear that EACH new student should pay 10$ per day to the one who provide temporary housing. This fee is for housing only, does not include food. The old student may take you out to eat or buy food from supermarket.
