What is Lambda Tau?
Lambda Tau, is a National Medical Technology Honor Society. It was incorporated in 1950 at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. It was recognized as the official Medical Technology Honor Society by the American Society for Medical Technology at the ASMT National Convention in Portland, OR in 1953. It currently has chapters in 21 states. The size of the chapters range from small private schools to large universities.
Lambda Tau is designed to recognize and encourage students studying and training to become Medical Technologists/Clinical Laboratory Scientists. The goal of Lambda Tau is to help colleges and universities raise the level of awareness and provide national recognition and financial assistance for outstanding students pursuing the profession of Medical Technology, or its alternate reference, Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
