Ignite Auburn Mission Statement

Ignite was founded to raise awareness about the hazards of smoking.  Ignite hosts events and programs to inform the youth of America about the adverse effects of tobacco use.  Ignite also works to notify the community of recent legislation passed or legislation under consideration concerning the availability, regulation, and use of tobacco products.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States and over ninety percent of smokers begin smoking before the age of twenty-one (American Lung Association).  Ignite works to raise awareness among this age group that is the target demographic of tobacco advertisement.

It is through efforts to raise awareness and legislation to regulate tobacco products that Ignite hopes to improve the health and safety of future generations.
