Mark Burns, Ph.D. Mark Burns is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of the Health Services Administration Program at Auburn University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, plus an A.M. degree in Political Science, also from Indiana University, and a B.A. in Political Science from Lambuth University, Jackson, Tennessee. He has been teaching at Auburn since 1975. Dr. Burns' primary teaching areas are health administration, health policy, and organization theory. Research by Dr. Burns has appeared in such journals as:

Rene' P. McEldowney, Ph.D. Rene' McEldowney is the Program Director and Associate Professor for the Health Administration Program. Dr. McEldowney has been involved with Auburn's Health Administration Program since 1992. She holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and completed post-graduate work at Oxford University, Oxford, England. Prior to entering the academic sector, she spent several years in the health care field both as a practicing health physicist and as a Certificate of Need (CON) coordinator. She received the Oxford Nuffield scholarship for health policy studies in 1990 and has been active in following and participating in the European debate on health care policy and reform. Dr. McEldowney has appeared on panels and presented papers at conferences of the Academy of Management, American Society for Public Administration, International Health Care Management Association, Holland's Health Care Forum, and Oxford's Wroxton Health Care Reform Consortium. In the Health Administration Program, she teaches Managed Care, Comparative Health Care Economies, and the Capstone Seminar. She is also the Health Administration Advisor for all students with last names N-Z. Rene P. McEldowney, Ph.D.
Paula E. Bobrowski, Ph.D. Paula Bobrowski is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and Executive Director of the Womens Leadership Institue at Auburn University. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and an MBA from th University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, as well as a BSN from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center, Portland, Oregon. She has been teaching since 1996 and has extensive professional experience nationally and internationally in healthcare prior to her academic career.Her primary teaching areas are health administration, marketing and international business. Dr. Bobrowski is a Fulbright Research Fellow and has received the Chancellors Award for Teaching Excellence from the State of New York. She has received several research and program development grants and has a passion for developing international programs. She is co-author of a textbook titled “Gateway to Business”, and has published book chapters and numerous research articles in various healthcare journals. Dr. Bobrowski is currently in charge of the Health Services Administration Internship Programs. Paula E. Bobrowski, Ph.D.
Clifton Perry, Ph.D. Clifton Perry, Ph.D. is the J.D. Hudson Professor of Philosophy and Medical Ethics. He teaches Medical Ethics; Philosophy of Law; and Health Law. The following is a list of degrees held by Dr. Perry:

Jennifer H. Johnson Jennifer H. Johnson is an Instructor in the Department of Political Science. She holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) and a BS in Health Services Administration both from Auburn University. Her work experience includes insurance and reimbursement, pharmaceutical sales, and nursing home administration. Mrs. Johnson is also an Alabama state licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Jennifer H. Johnson, NHA, MPA Jeanne M. Picariello Jeanne M. Picariello (Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired) is a member of the United States Olympic Committee where she is the Chair of the Multi-Sport Organizations Council. She served as the Chef de Mission for the 2004 USA Paralympic Team in Athens, Greece. In 2005, she worked with the American Red Cross as Manager, Staff Health in Gulfport, Mississippi during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. She is also serving on the Board of Directors, Alabama Fair Housing Center in Montgomery, Alabama. Jeanne is a doctoral student in the PhD program in Public Administration & Public Policy at Auburn University. Jeanne was previously the Director of Soldier and Family Support at the U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center in Alexandria, VA. Prior to that tour she served as Commandant of the U.S. Army Physical Fitness School at Ft Benning, GA. She co-authored the Army’s landmark Health Risk Appraisal and Health Promotion plan and guide for the Department of Defense. Colonel Picariello spent ten years as an Army nurse in burn care, ICU and CCU. She later served as Chief of Health Promotion for US Southern Command in Panama and spearheaded Army Health and Wellness programs in Germany, in the Pentagon and at the Army War College. During and after the Gulf War, she worked with combat troops in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq. She holds a Masters Degree from the University of Washington in cardiovascular nursing and exercise physiology, and a BSN from the University of Maryland. Her military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Colonel Picariello was also the first recipient of the Margaret Cochran Corbin Award for Distinguished Military Service from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jeanne, a former member of the All-Army Track Team, is an avid runner and swimmer. She was the first woman ever selected to the U.S. Modem Pentathlon Team in 1975 and participated in the Pentathlon World Cup in 1977. Jeanne M. Picariello | ||||
