Founded at Auburn: 1922 (Kappa Delta was the first Sorority at Auburn!)

Nationally Founded :
October 23, 1897, at State Female Normal School (now Longwood College), in Farmville, Virginia, by Lenora Ashmore Blackiston, Mary Sommerville Sparks Hendricks,Sara Turner White, and Julia Tyler Wilson . Their dream was to create something more lasting than a club: a sorority! It was to be an entity that would grow beyond their chapter at State Female Normal School. They never dared dream that it would grow into an organization of approximately 172,000 women, nearly 190 chartered chapters and more than 465 chartered alumnae associations nationwide.

Membership:
Kappa Delta has over 172,000 women worldwide making up nearly190 chartered chapters and more than 465 chartered alumnae associations nationwide.

Prevent Child Abuse America; Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
