Letter From the Recruitment Chair
On Behalf of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity, welcome to the Auburn Family! Your decision to attend Auburn is one that sets up your next few years to live and learn at one of the best universities in America. When you step foot on campus, you will for the first time be completely surrounded by the history of Auburn, and a history of a tradition of excellence that over 250,000 people have embraced since the founding in 1856. However, some men come into Auburn and want something more than the Auburn Family; they are looking for fellow men who share their belief in God, their passion for leadership, and their virtues of loyalty, and self-support. These men have challenged themselves to adhere to these values and become brothers of Alpha Kappa Lambda
Since our founding at Auburn on December 8, 1990, the Beta Phi chapter of AKΛ has fouced on producing men of character. Being men of character, we try to live this way by upholding our five ideals. These ideals are Judeo-Christian Principles, Leadership, Scholarship, Loyalty, and Self-Support. Our goal is to uphold these values in everything we do, and bring them out in others. We understand that becoming a man of character is not an end-result, nut a journey; and that all brothers live this journey day-in and day-out.
Alpha Kappa Lambda at Auburn has traditionally been a smaller fraternity by choice. We consider this to be one of our strengths. Because of this, we have focused on having members in many prominent organizations on campus, and price ourselves on heavily competing in the annual Auburn-sponsored spirit competition. All brothers are highly encouraged to become involved on Auburn's camous, not just to spread our name, but to grow as people and give back to a place that has given so much to us. Brothers have been, or are in organizations such as, Camp Wae Eagle, S.O.S., High School Leadership Conference, Tiger Tuesdays, Auburn Singers, SGA Senate, UPC, AU-HD, Auburn Cheerleading, Relay for Life Chairperson, IFC Executive Board, and a Friend of Aubie. In addition to involvement, the annual Spirit competition is very important to us. This competition determines block seating for football games in the fall. Points are awarded for attendance of athletic events, philanthropy participation, and campus involvement. All of these things consist of brothers showing their love for the University, and community.
It is our hope that you will decide to make the choice to join our Fraternity. AKΛ is in constant need of young men who uphold our values, as well as our dedication to personal and academic excellence. We believe that you owe it to yourself to attend our recruitment events throughout the year, meet our brotherhood, and see what Alpha Kappa Lambda has to offer you. Please contact us if you are interested in rushing our Fraternity, and feel free to call us any time if you would like more information, or have any questions. We also ask that you fill out the recruitment information form below to ensure that we are able to get in contact with you as soon as possible. Once again, we whole-heartedly would like to welcome you to the Auburn family.
