Project Head: Ronni Naramore
Jean Dean RIF is a program that donates books to at-risk 0 to 5 year olds in Head Starts, Even Starts,
and state-sponsored day cares across Alabama. Circle K'ers can volunteer in many different ways
including helping label books and gathering and packing orders to be shipped out. You can volunteer
for two hours on Mondays, but there are also other opportunities. The Jean Dean RIF warehouse is located at:
1105 Fitzpatrick Avenue in Opelika (click for map and directions)

Lee County Humane Society
Thursdays from 2-3 (Meet at the Humane Society)
Project Head: Elizabeth Purinai
Members visit the dogs and cats at the Lee County Humane Society to give them exercise, an
occasional bath, lots of love, and help in finding a home. This is a great project because you can go on
your own time as well as with the club. Just sign in the volunteer book under Circle K.  The Lee County Humane Society is located at 1140 Ware Drive right off of University Ave (click for map and directions).

Monarch Estates
Mondays from 2-3 and Fridays from 2-3 (Meet at Monarch Estates)
Project Head: Julie Kowzan
The Monarch Estates project involves visiting with senior residents of the Monarch Estates retirement
home. The atmosphere is relaxed, and Circle K members enjoy the experience as much as the seniors.
Residents appreciate having someone to chat with. Come enjoy some coffee, dessert, and great
conversation. On Mondays, we play Beanbag Baseball, and on Fridays we join them for a game of Balloon Volleyball! Monarch Estates is located at 1550 East University Drive near Lakeview Baptist Church. (click for map and directions).
