Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing SeriesTM

Tournament Format

2009 Tournament Trail

SEQUENCE OF THE EVENTS (SERIES)

Each tournament in the series will consist of two events;

1) There will be a “head to head” match between individual schools both days of each event for a total of six (6) matches over the three Series events.

2)  The tournament will also run an invitational format among all the
schools participating (no more than three boats may participate in the invitational from each school).

Head to Head Matches

·        Head to Head Matches: Cumulative weight of each schools team will be weighed to determine the winner in each head to head match. Each
match will be between two schools. Each event will have two matches,
except for the championship, there will be no matches in the championship.

·        Two boat teams vs. Three boat teams: The three boat team will utilize the weight of their top two boats in this match up. Please note that if
participation is available we will increase the number of boats each
school may bring to each event.

·        Three boat teams vs. Three boat teams: Provided both teams agree
more than three boats can be used by each team, however the boats
must be equal number and each team must designate the 3 boats that
will participate in the invitational during the tournament meeting. Please
note that if the number of boats increase per school this rule will be
modified.

Invitational

·        Each school will also compete in the invitational, which will use the
weight of each boat competing against all other boats.

·        There will be an invitational winner, receiving plaques for first through
third place in each event. There will also be a two man TEAM OF THE
SERIES based on the scoring of the three events.

·        Weights will be converted to points based on 100 points for first. The cumulative points by each school in each event will determine the
ranking of each school. As events are completed the points will continue
to be added to adjust the overall rankings throughout the series.

·        The overall winner of the three event series will be the Match Series

Champion with a trophy given at the championship event.

CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT / “Southern Series Trophy”

To be eligible for the championship, a school must have
fished a least two of the three series events.

·        The final championship will be a two tournament consisting of each team competing against all other teams in a cumulative weight format.

Only three boats, utilizing the top two boats weight from each school

will be allowed. Please note that the number of boats may increase.

·        The top team based on the two day total weight will be CHAMPION.

·        Southern Series Championship Trophy will be kept by the winner for
one year and then rotate to the new champion.

·        The tournament meeting the night before the start of the event will
include a dinner, awards, and specifics dealing with the event.
