Mr. Zachary Dobbs is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree in Music Education at Auburn University. He serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Auburn University Symphonic Band, Concert Band and the Auburn University Marching Band.
Mr. Dobbs earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of South Carolina in 2010. During his undergraduate study, he played trombone in numerous ensembles including the Left Bank Big Band, the Mighty Sound of the Southeast marching band (section leader and soloist), and the University of South Carolina Concert Band (Principal). While at USC, Zach studied with Professor James K. Copenhaver, wind conducting with Dr. Rebecca Phillips, and trombone with Dr. Brad Edwards.
He performed his student teaching at Ridge View High and Kelly Mill Middle in Blythewood, SC. Both programs earn consistent Superior ratings at SCBDA concert and marching contests. His cooperating teachers were Vince Clayton and Leah Corde’.
Mr. Dobbs professional affiliations include Music Educator’s National Conference, CERRA South Carolina Teaching Fellows, and is a Spring 2007 brother of the Zeta Chi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
