Alison Webeler is a graduate teaching assistant at Auburn University working with the bands. Prior to pursuing her Masters degree in Music education at Auburn University, Alison taught music in Western Iowa.
During the 2009-20010 school year, Miss Webeler taught K-6th General Music in the Charter Oak Ute School District and 9th-12th High School Band in the Maple Valley-Anthon Oto School District (MVAO). In 2010 Miss Webeler became the district-wide band director with the Maple Valley-Anthon Oto School District, teaching students in grades 5 – 12. While teaching band at MVAO the number of students in the band program grew as did the students’ enthusiasm. This led to the development of several new music programs, including a high school marching band, middle school jazz band and “bucket beats” program. Under Miss Webeler’s leadership students at MVAO successfully performed at many community events and state contests, in addition to hosting the annual middle school large group contest.
Miss Webeler completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from the University Of Northern Iowa (UNI). While attending UNI Miss Webeler played trumpet in the Symphonic Band, Trumpet Ensemble, Basketball Pep Band, and the Panther Marching Band. Miss Webeler also served in several student leadership roles while she was at UNI within marching band and Tau Beta Sigma.
Miss Webeler continues to remain professionally involved through her affiliations with the Iowa Bandmaster’s Association, Texas Music Educator’s Association, TI:ME, and EdTechWomen (Atlanta).
