All About A.M.E.S.
What is A.M.E.S.?
A.M.E.S. stands for the Auburn
Mathematics Education Society. A.M.E.S. is a professional development
student organization within the College of Education.
Why should I join A.M.E.S.?
A.M.E.S. provides an opportunity to meet other students at
Auburn University who are also interested in Mathematics Education; many of
the members can assist you as you continue at Auburn. In addition to
the benefits of networking within Auburn University, A.M.E.S. brings in
outside professionals such as teachers and superintendents to provide
further development. In addition, A.M.E.S. seeks to work closely with
local organizations such as T.E.A.M. Math (Transforming East Alabama
Mathematics), A.C.T.M (Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics), and
E.A.C.T.M. (East Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics), thus providing
an opportunity not available outside of A.M.E.S.
Who Can Join A.M.E.S.?
Anyone interested in Mathematics Education who is a student
at Auburn University or affiliated with Auburn University may become a
member. Dues are $15.
When does A.M.E.S. meet?
The Auburn Mathematics Education Society meets the first
Monday of every month at 6:30 in Haley 2442 (Location and times of meeting
subject to change).
What is the mission statement of A.M.E.S?
The mission of the Auburn Mathematics Education Society is to
offer professional development to all students at Auburn University who are
interested in mathematics education and to provide services for the local
mathematics education community.

If you wish to join A.M.E.S. or need to contact A.M.E.S.,

and you will be contacted by the president of the organization.
If
I am a member of A.M.E.S. how can I become an officer or become involved in
some way?
A.M.E.S. has many opportunities to become involved from
becoming an officer, serving on a committee, or assisting as the webmaster.
