Welcome to St Dunstan's!

St. Dunstan's, The Episcopal Church at Auburn University, is a welcoming place of Anglican worship, Bible study, and Christian community. Since 1920, this worshipping community has provided an active program of campus ministry for students, faculty, and friends of Auburn University. We are supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama and the Friends of St. Dunstan's. The local parish church, Holy Trinity, has an active role in helping the Episcopal Church at Auburn University. Parishioners of Holy Trinity cook and serve $2 suppers every Sunday night during the academic year, and the parish gives generous financial support to St. Dunstan's.

 FIFTH WEEK OF LENT

March 9-15, 2008

This is the last week of class before Spring Break begins. Unfortunately, the University's break coincides with Holy Week, so many of our student members will be at the beach, in the mountains, hiking the AT, sleeping at home, or traveling out of town--beginning Friday, March 14. Don't worry ... we will carry on with "Worship in the Beauty of Holiness." See the enclosed Super Big Holy Week Postcard as a reminder ...

Sunday, March 9 Fifth Sunday in Lent
I will be at St. Matthew's in-the-Pines for Holy Eucharist I at 11:00 am EST. There's a baseball game at Plainsman Park, so I'll be there from 2 pm until late afternoon ... Join us at 6:00 pm that evening for Holy Eucharist I followed by $2 Sunday Supper and Community Meeting!

Monday, March 10

I will be observing my Sabbath out at The Elms ... walking with Nick and Rosie and Dr. Allen, resting all day, and reading when I feel like it. When is your Sabbath?

Tuesday, March 11

We begin with Morning Prayer I at 9:30 am. Outreach at the East Alabama Food Bank at 3:00 pm. Meet at St. D's at 2:30 pm and we'll drive over. Folk Mass at 5:30 pm in the Chancel, followed by $2 Supper and an Officers' Meeting at 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, March 12

We begin with Morning Prayer I at 9:30 am. The Philosophers meet at 3:00 pm in the Chancel. EFM meets at 6:30 pm in the Chapel. And finally, Compline at 9:00 pm in the McDowell Room.

Thursday, March 13

Join us for Poverty in Our Community tonight at 6:30 pm for a simple supper, followed by a 7:00 pm presentation by Dr. Carol Zugazaga of the AU Social Work Dept. on 'Homelessness in Alabama.' All are welcome ...

Friday, March 14

I have EFM in the morning from 9:00 to 11:30. Students will be leaving for Spring Break beginning today. Try to be here for Easter Sunday, a Festival Holy Eucharist at 6:00 pm!

Saturday, March 15

The Discernment Group meets in the Chapel from 9:00 am to 12 noon. Then I'll be having Marriage Conversations, as well as preparing for Palm Sunday ...
