Chapter Goals

1. Hold at least 11 meetings throughout the year. 

2. Distribute a chapter newsletter to the members on the monthly basis. 

3. Organize one community service project per semester. 

4. Have a chapter representative attend at least 2 East Alabama SHRM meetings per semester. 

5. Provide support for human resource management internship programs by posting available internship opportunities on the chapter website and in the chapter newsletter, acting as a liaison between members and the Department of Management’s human resource management internship coordinator, and by inviting speakers to address the importance of having an internship. We also encourage speakers to announce internship and employment opportunities.

6. Maintain and regularly update the chapter website.

7. Organize and attend one company visit for the year.

8. Encourage member involvement in job shadowing days of half-days.

9. Assimilate a chapter resume book and distribute it to regional professional SHRM chapters

10. Consistently have member attendance at 20 or more per meeting.

11. Have a chapter representative at one of the following within in the year: SHRM State Conference; Area Conference; Local/State/Area Sponsored Seminars; SHRM Student Conferences

12. Visit to chapter by a SHRM state officer.

13. Have a joint chapter activity/speaker with another SHRM student chapter within the year.

14.      Have at least 5 members site for the HRCI exam within the year.
