General

Ceddrick Mack served as the Auburn University Student Government Association Treasurer in 2001-2002. In addition to his service with the SGA, he also used his capabilities and talents as a leader in holding a number of other positions in major clubs and organizations across the Auburn campus. His impact on his fellow Auburn students, teachers, and alumni will always remain a constant reminder of the exceptional Auburn man he was. Shortly after his death in the spring of 2003, Ceddrick was awarded the highest honor any Auburn man or woman can receive, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. He was also posthumously awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations upon the unanimous decision of the Auburn University Board of Trustees. Ceddrick celebrated life, served his fellow man through common good and believed in Auburn, for which he will always be remembered.

In 2002, SGA Executive Officers established the Beacon Leadership Scholarship to afford Auburn University incoming freshmen financial scholarships. The scholarship was designed to reward high school seniors who exemplified distinct leadership involvement throughout their high school career, with the expectation that they continue to develop and promote their leadership as Auburn Students. In January 2003, the scholarship took on a new commitment when it was dedicated to Ceddrick C. Mack as a memorial to his valued leadership spirit of service and loyalty to Auburn.
