Better Relations Day
History
War Eagle! We are Caroline Stephens, Tom
Rogers, and Kristi MeGahee, the Director and Assistant Directors of the 2009 Better Relations Day. We would like to share with you our excitement about serving Auburn through continuing the rich tradition of Better Relations Day. Started in 1948 by the Presidents of both Auburn University and the University of Alabama, it was founded to build and promote the best possible athletic relationship between the two schools in hopes of leaving our spirited rivalry on the field.
Student representatives of Auburn and Alabama began arranging joint meetings to plan for friendly cooperation between the two student bodies. Expanding this unique tradition to the University of Georgia, Better Relations Day has more recently grown to encompass the exchange of not only leadership ideas and policies, but also to increase the quality of our peer institutions.
We have many opportunities for volunteers this year, and we would love to see you be involved! Be on the lookout for the SGA Volunteer Drive, or e-mail us through our contact information found at the bottom of this page. We would like to encourage ANYONE who is interested in being involved to become a part of SGA’s great volunteer program.
