Executive Officers 2008 - 2009

 

President

Lauren Hayes

  • Lauren Hayes is a senior from Abbeville, Alabama, majoring in Public Administration and German.  Upon graduation in May 2009, she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Policy.  Lauren has been active in the Student Government Association since her freshman year through serving as a member of Freshman Forum, Cabinet, and Senate.  Lauren is the former President of Tiger Habitat and is currently a member of the War Eagle Girls and Plainsman, Omicron Delta Kappa, and her social sorority.  While attending Auburn University, Lauren has also had the opportunity to intern in the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. and study abroad in Salzburg, Austria.  She considers these experiences to be the foundation and motivation for her vision as the leader of the student body.  Lauren is honored and enthusiastic to serve as the 2008-2009 SGA President.

Senior Advisor to President

Brad Smith

  • Brad Smith is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. Formerly, Brad served Auburn University as a member of SGA Cabinet, a Squire Honorary, President of Cardinal Key Honor Society, and as an Impact Project Coordinator. Currently, he serves as a member of the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen, as Omicron Delta Kappa Vice President, and as a member of his social fraternity. Brad will assist the SGA President in carrying out her duties more effectively for the student body. He will work to strengthen SGA-Administrative relations, attend all Board of Trustee meetings, serve as the student representative at Faculty Senate meetings, and serve as SGA representative when the President is absent. He is honored to serve as the 2008-2009 SGA Senior Advisor to the President.

Tori Bray

  • Tori Bray, a junior majoring in Agricultural Economics and Political Science from Huntsville, Alabama, currently serves as the Student Government Association Vice President.  Upon graduation she hopes to pursue a master’s degree in economics followed by law school.  She has been involved SGA since her freshmen year through Tiger Tuesdays, Cabinet, Senate, and University Boards and Committees.  She has also been involved in other aspects on campus with Student Recruiters, Camp War Eagle and various honor societies such as Cardinal Key and Omicron Delta Kappa.  She is an active member in her social sorority.  Tori is honored to have the opportunity to return and work for the betterment of Auburn University as Vice President of the Student Government Association.

Treasurer

Gregg Peters

  • Gregg Peters, from St. Louis, MO, is a senior majoring in Finance along with a minor in Economics.  He plans on continuing his education by obtaining a Masters of Finance degree before pursuing a career in Commercial Real Estate. Gregg has spent the past year serving as the SGA Assistant Treasurer, a project coordinator with Impact, and a member of a social fraternity. He loves the St. Louis Cardinals and playing foosball. Gregg is honored to serve Auburn as your 2008-2009 Student Government Association Treasurer.

Jessica Dewberry

  • Jessica Dewberry is a senior majoring in Polymer Engineering from Alexander City, Alabama. She has been involved with the Student Government Association since her freshman year by serving as a member of Freshman Forum, Director of the Beat Bama Food Drive, and Secretary of University Outreach. Jessica is currently the President of Phi Psi Honor Society, a Student Recruiter, and a member of her social sorority. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve as your 2008-2009 Student Government Association Chief of Staff.

Executive Director of Initiatives

Samantha Nicolle

  • Samantha Nicolle, a senior majoring in History and Political Science from Hazel Green, Alabama, currently serves the Student Government Association as the Executive Director of Initiatives. She began her participation in the SGA as a member of Politics and Leadership within the Tiger Tuesday’s Freshman Program. She was then elected as a senator of the College of Liberal Arts for her sophomore and junior years and served on the Organizations Board and the Code of Laws Committee. During her second term as senator she acted as Chair of the Organizations Board Committee. Through the 2007 summer term she served as a Camp War Eagle counselor and is also a member of a social sorority. She plans to graduate in May 2009.
