Student Counseling Services (SCS) maintains emergency services throughout the year. SCS keeps the same calendar as the university and is open when the university is open. If you or someone you know is experiencing an urgent crisis, then SCS provides consultation, assessment, and evaluation as needed.
Regular Business Hours:
To access emergency services during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm), students can either call our office at 334.844.5123 or come directly to the SCS. Our offices are located on the second floor of the Auburn University Medical Clinic, 400 Lem Morrison Dr., Suite 2086. AUMC is located on the corner of Lem Morrison Dr. and Duncan Dr.
After Hours and Weekends:
After hours and weekends, the student should immediately go to the emergency room of the East Alabama Medical Center, 2000 Pepperell Parkway, Opelika, Alabama, 334.705.0510.
Immediate Physical Danger or Threat:
If you need immediate assistance in responding to disruption or a threat to your safety, or the safety of others, or imminent threat to the student's health and safety, dial Auburn Public Safety at 911. The department is staffed 24 hours a day and can dispatch law enforcement personnel to your location. The non-emergency number is 501-3100.
Other Mental Health Crisis Resources:
The East Alabama Mental Health Center has a toll free number that may be called 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for emergencies (800.815.0630). The clinician on-call will assist you as needed.
