Students who are named as National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Scholars are eligible for the following awards.

National Merit Finalists and National Achievement Finalists
National Merit Finalists and National Achievement Finalists receive a National Scholars Presidential Scholarship*:
| Tuition for four years for Alabama residents, currently valued at $29,184 ($7,296 per year), or $60,000 over four years for non-residents ($15,000 per year) |

University stipend for four years at $4,000 to $8,000 ($1,000 to $2,000 per year), depending on eligibility as determined by National Merit Scholarship Corporation and financial need as determined through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). |
A National Scholars Presidential Scholarship replaces a Spirit of Auburn Scholarship or an Academic Scholarship if previously awarded. National Merit and Achievement Finalists must have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA and meet the February 1 application for admission deadline.
National Merit Finalists should contact National Merit Scholarship Corporation to name Auburn University as their first choice institution by May 1. National Merit Finalists who wish to change a previously named first choice to Auburn must do so by an earlier deadline in April, as determined each year by National Merit Scholarship Corporation. National Achievement Finalists should mail or fax a copy of their notification letter to the Office of University Scholarships by May 1.

Alabama National Merit Semifinalists and Alabama National Achievement Semifinalists
Alabama National Merit and Achievement Semifinalists who have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA and meet the February 1 application for admission deadline receive a four-year, renewable Spirit of Auburn Founders Scholarship in the amount of tuition, currently valued at $29,184 over four years ($7,296 per year), replacing a Freshman Scholarship of lesser value if previously awarded.

National Hispanic Scholars who have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA and meet the February 1 application for admission deadline are eligible for a university stipend for four years at $4,000 to $8,000 ($1,000 to $2,000 per year) based on financial need as determined through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). National Hispanic Scholars who meet the December 1 Freshman Scholarship priority deadline may also receive consideration for a Freshman Scholarship based on their standardized test scores and high school GPA.
