External Scholarships

External Scholarships are scholarships awarded by individuals or organizations external to Auburn University. External Scholarship checks can be mailed to the Office of University Scholarships for deposit into the student's billing account. Students are encouraged to pursue as many External Scholarship opportunities as possible. Although Auburn University does not limit External Scholarships by number or amount, scholarships received may affect the amount of federal financial aid for which students are eligible. We recommend the following for External Scholarship opportunities:

-

High school guidance counselor

-

Local library

- Civic and service organizations

- Internet search using "scholarship" as the keyword

- Independent scholarship search engines

Occasionally, External Scholarship donors require proof of enrollment prior to sending funds. If so, the student should contact the Office of the Registrar located in Mary Martin Hall at (334) 844-4770 or visit Enrollment Certification to request certification of enrollment.

External Scholarship donors may also require current students to provide proof of academic standing to continue to receive funding. If so, the student should contact the Office of the Registrar or visit Request Transcripts to request an official transcript free of charge.

External Scholarship checks should be made payable to Auburn University and sent to the Office of University Scholarships. Checks made payable to Auburn University and the student or to the student only require student endorsement before they can be processed. If a check requires student endorsement, the Office of University Scholarships will contact the student via the student's university e-mail address.

External Scholarship checks should be mailed to:
