The Space Research Institute (SRI) of Auburn University is engaged in the engineering and development of energy, transportation, and national security technology for space based and terrestrial applications. By building partnerships between large multinational corporations, small businesses and government agencies the institute provides multidisciplinary experience to integrate resources, expertise, and strategy in the development of cutting edge technology. Under the Vice President for Research office SRI provides an interdepartmental framework across multiple academic and technical areas to address complex multidisciplinary challenges.

On site the Institute houses unique test facilities for evaluation of space power and transportation technology, terrestrial energy solutions and national security technology. Combined with a cross disciplinary staff experinced in modeling, prototyping and fabrication, SRI's technology innovation is based upon the broad needs of industry drawing on the knowledge based within the university.

In addition to working across campus and around the world with several industrial partners, SRI works closely with our onsite industrial partner Radiance Technologies on numerous technology development programs.
