The Space Research Institute (SRI) of Auburn
University is engaged in the engineering and development of
energy, transportation, and national security technology for
space based and terrestrial applications. By building
partnerships between large multinational corporations, small
businesses and government agencies the institute provides
multidisciplinary experience to integrate resources,
expertise, and strategy in the development of cutting edge
technology. Under the Vice President for
Research office SRI provides an interdepartmental
framework across multiple academic and technical areas to
address complex multidisciplinary challenges.
On site the Institute houses unique test
facilities for evaluation of space power and transportation
technology, terrestrial energy solutions and national security
technology. Combined with a cross disciplinary staff
experienced in modeling, prototyping and fabrication, SRI's
technology innovation is based upon the broad needs of
industry drawing on the knowledge based within the
university.
In addition to working across campus and
around the world with several industrial partners, SRI works
closely with our onsite industrial partner Radiance Technologies
on numerous technology development programs.
