Proposal Preparation Workshop SeriesObtaining sponsored research not only calls for innovative, creative, and intellectual research but also for an understanding of the technical aspects of grant writing and the search for funding opportunities. The Office of the Vice President for Research recognizes this relationship and now offers workshops to help faculty members and graduate students in areas of proposal preparation. Spring 2008 ScheduleThis workshop series is open to all AU faculty members and graduate students. Each workshop has a 30-minute presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. No registration is required. All workshops are held in 238 Broun Hall. Funding Opportunities and Community of Science Tuesday, March 25, 2008 Searching for funding opportunities can be difficult and time consuming. This workshop gives you information about using on-line databases such as Community of Science. You will be able to learn about techniques and opportunities to help you find funding faster. This workshop will give you information about proposal components and help you better understand the importance of following guidelines. Navigating Electronic Research Administration Systems (i. e. NSF, NIH, Grants.gov) Tuesday, April 15, 2008 Most information about opportunities and submission requirements are electronic. This workshop will provide you a chance to learn better ways to navigate electronic research administration systems such as NSF, NIH, and Grants.gov. Budget Development Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Sponsoring agencies will need to know exactly how you will spend the funds. You will learn about what to consider when drafting a budget. |
