Office of Technology Transfer

The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) serves as the link between the commercial marketplace and Auburn University faculty. OTT offers Auburn researchers expertise and guidance regarding the protection of intellectual property, including patents and copyrights, and in seeking licensing agreements with commercial entities to take Auburn research developments into the marketplace for the public benefit. Services provided by OTT include: evaluation of invention disclosures; management of the patent process; marketing of Auburn’s intellectual properties; working with start-up companies licensing Auburn technologies; negotiation of confidentiality, material transfer, collaboration and licensing agreements with industry and other research institutions.

OTT News

  • Auburn start-up Halosource, Inc. has received EPA registration for their HaloPure BR® water purification system based on n-halamine technology licensed from Auburn.  This registration will broaden the reach of HaloSource’s technology and extend the range of potential partners to support the need for clean drinking water worldwide in both developed and developing economies.
  • Alabama Launchpad announces the finalists of this year's business plan competition, including two teams from Auburn.
  • Auburn announces a joint research effort with Calvert Research on a drug delivery technology invented by Dr. Valery Petrenko.  Calvert was introduced to the technology through the Office of Technology Transfer.
  • OTT has moved!  We are now located in the new Auburn Research Park building south of campus. (Driving directions)
  • OTT launches Tech Notice: a mailing list announcing new Auburn technologies as they are posted to the website.  Subscribers can sign up for all technologies or only for those from certain technical fields. Sign up here.
