Positions Available

Child Clinical, Experimental, I/O, ABA Positions:

The Department of Psychology at Auburn University is seeking candidates to fill four full-time, tenure track positions. The starting date for all positions is August 16, 2008 . The four positions are: (1) Child Clinical; (2) Experimental; (3) Industrial/Organizational (I/O); and (4) Applied Behavior Analysis ( ABA ). The first three positions are at the Assistant Professor level and the Applied Behavior Analysis position is at the assistant/associate level. We are committed to increasing faculty and student diversity. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Specific qualifications are outlined below for each position.

  (1) We seek Child Clinical candidates for our APA-accredited scientist-practitioner Ph.D. program who will: a) maintain an active, high-quality, fundable research program; b) mentor students; c) provide high quality instruction at the graduate and undergraduate level; and d) supervise clinical practica. Area of interest is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates with an adolescent focus, a strong background in clinical child psychology and development, and those who promote and enhance diversity. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited clinical program (with an accredited clinical internship) and be licensed or license-eligible.

  (2) In Experimental Psychology , we seek to hire a cognitive psychologist who will contribute to the projected growth of our Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences program. The area of specialization is open but we are especially interested in applicants who can enhance and extend existing content areas. Those whose interests include perception, attention, memory or decision making, including their applications to aging and development are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology or related field is required.

  (3) The I/O position requires maintaining an active research program leading to published research in I/O Psychology relevant outlets. The candidate should have, or show potential of, a developed research program in I/O Psychology: The area of specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in the applicant's area of specialization. Other undergraduate or graduate classes consistent with the applicant's background and interests (e.g., statistics, research methods or social psychology) may be taught as needed by the department. Ph.D. in I/O Psychology is required.

  (4) The primary focus of the ABA position will be directing an existing BACB-approved Master's Program in Applied Behavior Analysis. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in this area. Applicants should hold the BCBA credential and have experience in applied settings, especially with developmentally disabled populations. Applicants should have a clear record of research productivity in applied behavior analysis. A Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

  The successful applicants will join a growing Department of Psychology committed to promoting the careers of junior faculty, with 22 full-time, tenure track faculty. With the new positions, we will have 26 faculty for our three doctoral programs in Experimental, I/O, Clinical Psychology (APA-accredited), and a Master's program in Applied Behavior Analysis (BACB-approved). "Core" Position

The Department of Psychology at Auburn University seeks candidates to fill a
tenure-track assistant professor position. The area of research is open but it must broadly
involve application to undergraduate education (e.g., formative assessment, learning
strategies, pedagogy, testing and measurement, etc.) with potential for extramural funding
and contribute to one of our graduate programs. PhD in psychology from an accredited
institution required. Teaching will include Introductory Psychology plus undergraduate
and graduate classes in the candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will
join a growing department committed to promoting the careers of junior faculty, with an
anticipated 26 full-time, tenure-track faculty in three doctoral programs (Experimental,
I/O, and Clinical Psychology (APA-accredited), and a Master’s program in Applied
