What are the requirements to become a Psi Chi member at Auburn?
* Seeking a major in Psychology
* Completion of 3 semesters of college courses (i.e. must be at least a second year college student)
* Completion of at least 9 semester hours in psychology classes OR completion of 6 semester hours in
   psychology while currently taking 3 hours.
* Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 psychology GPA (this will be verified when application is
   submitted)

Do I have to renew my membership every year?

No, Psi Chi membership is earned with good grades and is for life.  Your membership will be recorded in the Psi Chi
national office and can be referenced on applications to graduate school or jobs. There is a one-time
membership fee of $75, which is due when you submit your initial application.  Once a member, always a member.

When is the induction dinner for new members?

There are two inductions each school year - one during the fall semester and one during the spring semester.  If you miss out on the fall induction, keep looking out for information on the spring induction dinner.

Do I need to have research experience in order to get into graduate school?

Not necessarily but it is recommended. The more experience that you have, the more competitive you are as a graduate applicant.

Do I need to be involved in extracurricular activities?

Again, not necessarily; however, your membership and active involvement in extracurricular activities shows that you have commitment to excelling in all aspects of your academic and nonacademic career.
