LINDY BIGGS, DIRECTOR

Lindy is an Associate Professor of History with specialties in History of Technology and Environmental History. She gained administrative skills as the Executive Director of the Society for the History of Technology, a 3,000 member international organization. Her PhD from MIT is from an interdisciplinary department which gave her experience working with engineers, scientists, social scientists, and humanities scholars.

A life-long environmentalist, she feels that promoting sustainability is a perfect way for her to bring together her knowledge of technology (especially the technology of manufacturing) and the environment.

THE LANGDON ANNEX

The Langdon Annex is as much a part of the Sustainability Initiative as any of its members. What was once a space in ruin, has now been a transformed, thanks to the help of 18 architecture students, into a sustainable oasis on a campus whose buildings oftentimes lack much character. The Annex now serves as the headquarters to the Sustainability Initiative and is the meeting place for numerous groups and committees on campus.
