PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK IN AT THE VOLUNTEER TABLE IN THE HALLWAY INSIDE. GLOVES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
The responsibility of the Neuter Transport volunteer is to transport male cats from the Physical Exam/Ear Tip stations to the Neuter stations. Be sure you check the paw tag to be sure it is marked "male cat" and be sure you clearly see that the cat has 2 testicles. Both the paw tag and the hemostat on the cat's ear should be left securely in place.
When you arrive at the clinic, be sure you learn the locations of the Physical Exam/Ear Tip stations and Neuter stations.
When transporting cats to the Neuter stations, cats should be delivered in a manner so that they may be handled in a first-in, first-out manner. Give them directly to an available station if no cats are on the waiting table or place them on the waiting table in order!
MONITOR the cats carefully. Respiration (>6/minute), heartbeat (>100/minute), and gum color (pink). If the cat is not breathing well or its gums are blue, pull firmly on the tongue, press a fingernail on the nose leather and NOTIFY THE CLINIC SUPERVISOR for assessment.
IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS, NOTIFY THE SUPERVISOR.
PLEASE TURN IN THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET AT YOUR STATION AT THE END OF THE DAY. THANK YOU!
