Scanning Photographs with Vistascan

1. Place the photo face down on the scanner and close the lid.
2. Start the Vistascan Program.
3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Set the scanner type to Flatbed (Reflective)
5. For color photos, select True Color. For black and white, select  B&W Photo.
6. Screen setting should be No Descreen. (Used for scanning printed photos.)
7. Set DPI to the desired amount (depends on size desired--see previous page).
8. No Filter required.
9. Set scale to 100%.

10. Select Auto Adjustment to adjust colors.
11. Click the Scan To button to reveal choices of where to send the scan, and for file formats. Click the floppy disk icon and choose your disk, along with the JPG format.
12. Click Preview.
13. After the image appears, click on the rectangle tool and select the area of the photo you wish to scan.
14. Next, adjust the black/white levels. Click on the "sun" and change the white, black, and gray sliders to adjust the image.
15. Click Scan.
16. For next photo, start with the Default Button. Place the photo in the scanner and go to step 2.
