· We understand the importance of being prepared for and taking active parts in each discussion.  Therefore, we have promised each other that we will prepare thoroughly for each discussion.  That is, we will read the predetermined portion of our book, write about that portion in our journals, and prepare for our special role.

· We will bring to our fourth discussion an original  "I Am"  poem based on a character from our book.

· A component of literature circles includes a final assignment, which allows individuals to show and express the experiences with the book or literature that has been  read.  Individuals are free to do what they wish with this assignment, as long as incorporate knowledge from the book is incorporated into your project.  A list of possible projects is provided by the teacher.  If other ideas arise, please discuss these with the teacher for teacher approval.  There are three things that must done before completing this assignment:
· consult the teacher with the proposed method of completing this project
· write our at least three themes that have been learned from this novel and explain them
· write an explanation of the project that discusses the choices you made
