Facts and Opinions
We interviewed two important people in our school
system about the Dress Code issue. There responses were very different even
though in the same district.

Beauregard High School Principal Richard Brown(Master's and Specialist degrees in Administration) was asked the following questions:
"I believe it is a progressive step in the future of our school. It not only will make us more neat and organized but will give more appropriate safety."
"No, they can not be changed."
"ALL shirts must be tucked in yes. But, this isn't meaning Sweaters, Jackets, and so on. If it is a button up shirt it should be buttoned and tucked in."
"It allows for weapons to be exposed and really gives the school a good look I think."
"I'm pretty sure it will be.(I am the Chairman of the committee that makes the handbook)"
"The book bag article was put in this years hand book to notify the parents and teachers of next years changes. I really don't think that enough people have actually noticed the change so I do plan to notify the press of the change."
"Of course, when the committee meets it is a public event and anyone that wants to come may.(Parents are on the committee but not many)"

Lee County Board of Education Assistant Administrator Mr. John Stinson(Master's in Administration) were asked the questions as follows:
"I believe in this new rule very greatly. At
my old school there was a very similar dress code."
"Yes, They can be changed. If they are changed they can be announced by intercom or paper."
"ALL shirts including sweaters must be tucked in. If a girls shirt is longer than one inch below the belt buckle it needs to be tucked in."
"It doesn't allow for any weapon to be revealed"
"It's not up to the Board of Education, but I do hope it is"
"At my last school(Tuskegee) they were required to wear clear or mesh bags. I didn't really see a problem in it."
"Yes, when they elect school officials"
