- Students will discover that the units of measurement
are arbitrary.
- Students will discover the need for a standard unit
in order to communicate lenght measuremnt to others.
- Students will use a real problem context with a need
to invent units of lenght.
- Students will work cooperatively in small groups of
4 or 5 students. (Instructors must take the following into consideration
when developing groups- high/low students; students that work well together;
and students who tend to 'take charge' in group.)
