The Cultural Approach is a method of teaching
social studies. This method was developed by Professor Oliver Turner Ivey, professor of history
at Auburn University for 38 years.
The Cultural Approach (P. R. A. I. S. E.) emphasizes the Political, Religious, Aesthetic, Intellectual, Social, and Economic aspects of a specific culture in a particular time and space. The Alabama Course of Study for Social Studies is used as a guide in
