CD to MP3
MusicMatch
is an mp3 encoder/player. What that means in real people
talk is that it can change a CD track to a condensed format that you can put
on webpages, play on your computer while you work or put all or part in a presentation.
I will help you take a CD track, save it and put it on a webpage.
What do you need? PC or Mac G3 or better. For older Macs look at www.qdesign.com for a free player.
STEP 1 - Put your favorite CD, or a CD of great speeches of the century, or music to go along with a writing assignment, etc. in the CD drive.
STEP 2 - Open MusicMatch application.
There will be three windows. The window below is the Recorder window.
Choose a track to record by clicking in the box before the title.
Click Start. The file will be too much data for a floppy so it will be saved on the desktop (because that's where I set it up to go).
STEP 3 - Find your file in the Media4WebPages desktop folder. The file was automatically named (with a few exceptions) and ends in .mp3 It will also play in QuickTime or RealPlayer for folks that don't have this nice freebie.
STEP 4 - Open your webpage, Edit HTML source insert after
