Mission:

The mission of the Outreach Program Office is to propose, develop, coordinate, administer, and conduct fee-for-service, non-credit,
educational programs designed to:

(1) Make the educational resources of the University (in areas that are interdisciplinary or areas that have no school-based outreach unit) available to the general public;
(2) Better utilize existing University facilities and services; and
(3) Promote the image of Auburn University as a major public service provider in the State and in the Southeast.

Goal A: Provide Quality Continuing Education

Provide high quality, fee-for-service, non-credit, continuing education programs to the citizens of Alabama and beyond. Programmatic offerings will fall into one of four general categories: Professional Development Training, Programs for Older Adults, Community Courses, and Resident Summer Youth Camps.

Goal B: Improve Efficiency of Continuing Education Program

The OPO will seek to improve the overall efficiency of the non-credit, fee-for-service, educational programing effort by increasing the total amount of program income generated and the total number of participants enrolled per dollar of University funding invested in a year.
