Information Technology Training

OPCE is excited to partner with IT Training Solutions to bring instructor-led IT training to Southeast Alabama. Security professionals and network administrators will significantly benefit from these courses. Courses may be taken independently and require no formal admission to the University.

Network Penetration Testing & Countermeasures Course

Network Penetration Testing & Countermeasures is a hands-on, intensive, five-day workshop immersing students in the methodologies and application of ethical hacking concepts, techniques, and tools. The ethical hacking methodology used in this class includes: footprinting, scanning, enumeration, exploitation, and post-exploitation. Countermeasures to mitigate the various hacking techniques are emphasized. When students complete the class they will have hands-on experience applying the best of breed security tools in the context of an ethical hacking methodology, using various ethical hacking concepts and techniques.

This course will significantly benefit systems administrators, network administrators, auditors, security professionals, site administrators, and anyone who is concerned about the integrity and security of their systems and network infrastructure, as well as those interested in systems and application security.

This course qualifies for 3.5 CEU / 35 CPE credits.

Secure Programming: Developing Defensible Web Applications Course

This class first demonstrates to developers how attackers create strategies to compromise applications in order to help students “think like an attacker.” The class then moves into demonstrating how the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) provides developers with the tools to successfully develop applications that are difficult or impossible to hack. This class is rich in hands-on opportunities giving developers a chance to see for themselves how attackers think, how the framework protects the application, as well as where it falls short. This course also satisfies section 6.5 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

This class is focused specifically on software development but is accessible enough for anyone who’s comfortable working with code and has an interest in understanding the developer’s perspective: Software Developers and Architects; Testers/QA specialists; Systems and Security Administrators; and Penetration Testers.

This course qualifies for 1.95 CEU / 19.5 CPE credits.
