Featured Speakers

Our featured speakers are from the Community Learning Center Institute (CLCI) which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio and include:

  • Darlene Kamine – Executive Director of the Community Learning Center Institute (CLCI), a non-profit dedicated to transforming schools into community learning centers based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her leadership has been recognized by the Coalition for Community Schools, National Governor's Association Center for Best Practices and the National Center for Community Schools. She served as magistrate for the Hamilton County (Ohio) Juvenile Court for 17 years and organized the Court's first dependency, neglect and abuse unit. She served as President of both the American Bar Association Institute for Child Advocacy and the Junior League of Cincinnati and co-founded the Cincinnati Children's Museum.
  • Annie Bogenschutz – Director of Training and Development for the Community Learning Center Institute. She is the former Resource Coordinator at Ethel Taylor Academy, which was recognized in 2011 by the Coalition for Community Schools with a national award of excellence. She has been a featured panelist on MSNBC's Education Nation Town Hall and has been highlighted in numerous publications including the American Educator and American Teacher magazines. She is co-chair of the Coalitions for Community Schools Coordinator's Committee.
  • Jami Luggen – Resource Coordinator at Oyler School Community Learning Center since 2009. She worked in banking and private industry for almost 20 years and in Human Resources prior to assuming her present position. She was recently interviewed extensively by National Public Radio when they did a series on Oyler School.
  • Dr. Marilyn Crumpton – Director of the Cincinnati Health Department's School and Adolescent Health Division. As founding executive director of Growing Well Cincinnati she has brought primary care, dental and mental health providers together with teachers, parents, after-school providers and community members to ensure the healthy, whole child development of children in the Cincinnati Public Schools. A native of north Alabama, Dr. Crumpton is a graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
