  • Session I: What is a Community School? A brief history of the Cincinnati effort. Why it came to be? Who was initially involved? Where did early support come from? How has the Community Schools effort grown? How is success measured?
  • Session II: The role of Health care in community learning centers. How can community-based systems and organizations align with community Schools? What is included? How is structured and funded?

12:30 – 2:00 pm   Workshop Sessions III & IV:
  • Workshop Session III: What does a community school look like at the site level? What is the role of a resource coordinator? How are they funded? Where do you find them? A day in the life of a resource coordinator.
  • Workshop Session IV: How do all of these systems work together? How do they achieve alignment and integration? What are some of the challenges? What successes have been achieved?
  • Lessons Learned through the Cincinnati Community Learning Institute and suggestions for Alabama
