An Auburn University Board of Trustees approved program for reordered surplus property procedures which allow for much greater availability of surplus items to Alabama public schools and State governmental entities.
 
2009 AU Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach
You are invited to submit nominations for the 2009 Auburn University Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach, which is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for University Outreach. The award, and a $5,000 honorarium, will be presented to one exceptional AU faculty member.  All full-time Auburn University faculty, including those with Extension appointments, are eligible.  The award criteria stress the overall academic merit and demonstrable impact of the nominee's outreach.
 
2009 Outreach Scholarship Grants
The purpose of the Competitive Outreach Scholarship Grants is to encourage faculty initiative in addressing critical societal needs in Alabama or beyond. This program is intended to more vigorously promote outreach scholarship as defined in the 2002 revisions to Chapter 3 of the Faculty Handbook.

Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) IT Institute BDPA IT Institute
Auburn University's Office of Distance Learning and the Black Data Processing Associates have joined together to create the BDPA IT Institute, an innovative service for IT professionals which provides training and skills for upward mobility in IT. The Academic Head for this certificate program is Juan Gilbert, Ph.D. of AU's Computer Science and Software Engineering Department.
