The purpose of the Competitive Outreach Scholarship Grants is to encourage faculty initiative in addressing critical societal needs in Alabama or beyond. This program is intended to more vigorously promote outreach scholarship as defined in the 2002 revisions to Chapter 3 of the Faculty Handbook.

The Office of the Vice President for University Outreach will make available grants to support faculty engagement in outreach.  Grants will be awarded up to $20,000 each this year, with the possibility of a renewal.

Grant Workshop

A workshop will be held at the AU Hotel and Dixon Conference Center, Ballroom B, on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. to describe the program and answer questions.  Small, pre-proposal travel grants can be made available to help faculty members consult with clientele or target audiences.
